- Wildlife: As the main purpose of Snow Leopard Trek or Hemis National Park trek is spotting the rare Snow leopards. Their sights become the main highlight of the trek. You also encounter some other animals like Himalayan blue sheep, Tibetan wolf, Eurasian Brown bear etc.
- Monasteries: Along the trek, you will see some centuries older than the time. Few of them are Hemis Monastery, Thiksey Monastery, Rumbak Monastery, and Stok Monastery. If your itinerary includes visiting them, then you can halt here and explore them in just 1-2 hours. Since the best time of the trek is in winter, a festival called “Dosmoche” is celebrated in Thiksey Monastery. If you are lucky, you might attend it.
- Photography: Be it nature photography or wildlife photography, you can engage in both on snow leopard trek. The scenery is spectacular and you see various species of animals too. You can click amazing shots.
