Taking a flight is the quickest and most convenient way to reach Ladakh. Leh’s Kushok Bakula Rimponchee is the nearest airport. It is just 3.8km away from the main city. Many International airports in India including Delhi, and Chandigarh have good connections with this airport. Delhi Airport is the closest and the most convenient way to reach Leh from Delhi.
It takes 1.5 hours to get from Delhi to Leh via scenic aircraft. Even foreign passengers can fly directly to Leh airport from large cities like Kolkata and Mumbai and then continue to Ladakh. To go to the desired location, you can either hire a cab or find a few cabs outside the airport.

Leh Ladakh can be reached by road in two ways one goes from Srinagar and the other goes from Manali to Leh. Leh is situated around 430km from Srinagar and 490km from Manali. A taxi, a jeep, and a JKSRTC bus (both luxury and ordinary) are all options to reach Leh by road.
Alternatively, depending on how much time you have you can start a bike ride from Srinagar, Manali, or Delhi to reach Leh. It is only possible from May to September as heavy snowfall blocks roadways throughout the winter and early summer.

Due to the lack of a train station in Leh, you cannot reach Ladakh directly by train. The nearest station to Leh Ladakh is Jammu Tawi, Jammu Which is 700km away from Ladakh. It has good connections from Delhi, Chandigarh, and even the southern states of India. To get to Leh from Jammu You can take a JKSRTC bus or order a taxi.
