Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Leh (3,500 m)

Arrival at Leh Airport.

Transfer to hotel and complete rest for acclimatization. Avoid strenuous activities due to high altitude. Evening leisure walk around Leh Market (optional). Explore local cafes and Tibetan markets.

Overnight stay in Leh.

Distance: Approx. 70 km round trip
Travel Time: 2–3 hours total

Drive towards the famous Sangam point. Witness the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers. Enjoy spectacular views of the river valley. Visit Magnetic Hill en route. Explore nearby monasteries if time permits. Return to Leh by evening.

Overnight stay in Leh.

Distance: Approx. 180 km
Travel Time: 5–6 hours

Depart Leh after breakfast. Follow the scenic Indus River Valley. Pass through Upshi and Mahe Bridge. Visit the natural hot springs of Chumathang. Enjoy views of traditional Ladakhi villages and fertile riverbanks. Continue drive along the Indus River towards Nyoma. Explore the peaceful surroundings of Nyoma village.

Distance: Approx. 220 km
Travel Time: 7–8 hours

Early morning drive towards Demchok. Travel through the remote villages of Dungti and Koyul. Drive along one of the most scenic stretches of the Indus Valley. Visit the famous shepherd grasslands often referred to as Mini Mongolia due to their vast open landscapes. Interact with local Changpa shepherd communities (subject to availability). Witness the mighty Indus River flowing through the valley. Visit the area where the Indus River enters India from Tibet. View the Indo-China Zero Point region (subject to local permissions and regulations). Enjoy stunning mountain and river landscapes rarely seen by tourists. Continue drive to Hanle.

Overnight stay in Hanle.

Travel Time: 4–5 hours

Early morning visit to Hanle village. Explore the world-famous Indian Astronomical Observatory, one of the highest observatories in the world. Enjoy panoramic views of the Hanle Valley. Visit Hanle Monastery (optional). Drive towards the breathtaking Tso Moriri Lake. Witness changing landscapes of high-altitude deserts and wetlands. Arrive at Korzok village on the banks of Tso Moriri. Sunset views over the lake.

Overnight stay near Tso Moriri.

Distance: Approx. 220 km
Travel Time: 6–7 hours

Early morning views of the beautiful Tso Moriri. Drive towards the picturesque Kyagar Tso Lake. Explore the geothermal region of Puga Valley. Witness steaming geothermal vents and natural hot spring activity. Continue through Chumathang.

Follow the scenic Indus River road back towards Leh. Enjoy beautiful river, mountain, and village landscapes throughout the journey. Arrive in Leh by evening.
