Kolahoi Peak Expedition
Kolahoi Peak is the highest peak in Kashmir. Standing tall at an altitude of 5425m, this peak is the toughest and least summited peak here in Kashmir. The peak has Kashmir’s largest glacier, Kolahoi Glacier, surrounding its hem. The summit to the peak is technical with an ascent of 825m from the advanced camp. The push to the summit goes via glacier traverse and rock climbing. The challenge to summit this peak is the glacier crevasse and rockfall. The last 600m push to the summit is over the non-glacier, rocky part. On our summit, we will be taking the Ernest Neve Route which is the most technical route from the south face. The peak was first climbed by Dr. Ernest Neve in 1912.
Kolahoi Peak Expedition is one of the least taken mountain expeditions in India. The summit gives a panoramic view of Lidder Valley, Sindh Valley, Pir Panjal Mountain ranges, and Kashmir Himalayas.
Kolahoi peak falls in the great Himalayan range.
