If you are planning for a more budget friendly trip to Gurez, train is the suitable option. The Jammu Tawi Railway Station connects Jammu regions to the rest of India. Srinagar is Approximately 270 kilometres away. Private or state-owned buses travel from Jammu to Srinagar in about 8-9 hours.
Another operational trailhead is Udhampur Railway Station. To reach Srinagar from Udhampur, you have to board multiple trains. From Udhampur to Ramban to Srinagar.
