Night stay at Leh.

After breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley – the Valley of Flowers and the quietest region in Ladakh via the famous Khardungla pass. Experience the thrill of a road trip over one of the highest motorable roads in the world. En route, admire the spectacular views of the snow-capped mountain ranges. Take a stop at Khardungla, click some memorable pictures, and then continue downwards to Nubra.

In Nubra, indulge in activities like ATV riding (On a direct payment basis). After Hotel check-in, visit the 108 ft high Maitriya Buddha Statue at Diskit Monastery. At Hunder Sand Dunes do the dune bashing and ride on the double-humped camel (on a direct payment basis) and have a wonderful time at Nubra Valley.

Night stay at Nubra.

After breakfast drive to the famous Turtuk Valley. This valley was first thrown open for tourists in 2010. The entire region was under Pakistan’s control until 1971 when India gained control during the war of 1971. This is the culturally rich place of Balti settlements and it has the best of the landscape.

Here you will see the border between India and Pakistan. The outmost village here is the Thang village which connects to Pakistan. You can see from here Pakistan army posts and the village across the border. It is here that the Shyok River which you have seen and will see in the Nubra region, enters Pakistan and disappears.

Cliffhangers high recommendation is to taste the local food here and take a walk through old Turturk village which has Balti Heritage House – a mini museum to preserve the Balti culture and architecture. People are warm here and welcome you with a smile.

Return to Nubra.

Night stay at Nubra Valley.

 Pangong Lake Exploration.

  • Recommended Activity: Visit the Leh market – Leh Bazaar, Leh Johkang, Leh Mosque, Shanti Stupa.
  • Night Stay: Standard Hotel in Leh.

We will start the day with a beautiful drive along the Shyok River. From the Agyam bridge, we will take the left route which leads us to the villages of Shyok and Durbuk. After Durbuk, take a left towards Tangtse and follow the traditional route. Drive further and we will reach the breathtaking Pangong Lake – one of the largest naturally formed brackish lakes in the Himalayas. This entire drive is completely rewarding.

Pangong Lake is at 14000 ft height and more than half of the lake is within China. As you face the lake, the right side is China. Only one-third part of the lake lies in India. Explore this majestic lake and if you are lucky you might see some rare wildlife. Once here, visit the famous 3 Idiot shooting point, and try local food at any of the small restaurants around the Lakeshore. Later during free time enjoy the colour-changing lake as the sun sets on the lake. Wake up early morning to experience the gorgeous view of the sunrise.

Night stay at Pangong.

After breakfast, drive to Hanle via the famous Man, Merak, Tsaga-la, Chushul, and Rezang-la. Hanle is very near to the China border. Hanle has become very famous as it was announced as India’s Dark Sky Reserve. It is famous for star gazing and observing the celestial bodies. Take some time and visit the observatory. The local guides here will let you experience the starry nights with the help of some gadgets.

Do not forget to explore the very small local village life here. Also, visit the famous Hanle Monastery which was built in the 17th century.

On this day drive to the gorgeous Tso Moriri Lake via Nyoma and Mahe Bridge. The drive is utterly scenic. The lake is situated at a height of 4,522 meters and is 19km long, and 3km wide. The lake is a Ramsar wetland and has varied species of migratory birds. Apart from the lake, visit the Korzok monastery which is on top of the village here, and experience the surreal feeling of taking a walk along the bank of the lake.

Walking along the shores of the lake during sunset time is so surreal experience.

Overnight in Swiss camps/guest house at Korzok village.
